Difference between neodymium and smco magnet

Rare earth permanent magnets are also known permanent magnet materials with the highest comprehensive performance. They are 8 to 10 times higher than permanent ferrites and 3 to 5 times higher than AlNiCo permanent magnet materials, so they are widely used. Samarium cobalt permanent magnet is a magnetic material composed of samarium, cobalt and other metal rare earth materials. Contains SmCo5 and Sm2Co17. Neodymium iron boron (Ne2Fe14B) is a tetragonal crystal formed by neodymium, iron and boron.

Before analyzing the characteristics of the two rare earth permanent magnet materials, samarium cobalt (SMCo) and neodymium iron boron (NdFeB), we need to understand the following two definitions:
Maximum magnetic energy product: The larger the magnetic energy product, the less magnetic material is required to produce the same effect. So the bigger the BH, the better
Maximum operating temperature: When the temperature is higher than this, the magnetic property drops sharply and cannot work normally. Part of the magnetism can be restored when the temperature falls back to normal levels. It can be seen from the above performance data that samarium cobalt and neodymium iron boron, as the two most important series of rare earth permanent magnet materials, have their own merits.
NdFeB magnetism is better, but the temperature stability of the magnetism is poor, and it is easily affected by temperature. Samarium cobalt also has excellent magnetic energy and the best temperature characteristics. Compared with NdFeB, it can better adapt to high temperature environment.Although the price of samarium cobalt is relatively high, because of its good stability, it is more and more favored by air compressor manufacturers, and has also been well received by customers.
